In 1999, Anton Smetankin graduated from Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Moscow State University. In 2002, he graduated from the Faculty of Law of the Russian State Social University.

For more than 10 years he has been engaged in film and television broadcasting on the channels of STS, TNT, as well as in various production companies: Snapshot Films East, KinoTrest, Studio 17, Parabola, Look Film, InMotion Films.

He took part in the organization of the opening and closing of the Olympic Games in Sochi-2014 as a director of one of the departments. In 2014, the company Parovoz was established together with the creative directors Evgeniy Golovin and Vadim Volya. As Chief Executive Officer of the studio, Smetankin controls the entire production process, including organizational, financial and legal issues.

As general producer he participated in fifteen cartoon series of the studio, including well-known projects Be-be-bears, Leo and Tig, Fantasy Patrol and Heroes of Envell.
