Scientists from Voronezh State Agrarian University have developed a new technology for laser treatment of farm animals.

According to the press service of the educational institution, the method created at the university was presented during the Russian agrarian exhibition.

The new method of treatment implies low-intensity irradiation of small and large cattle. The technology, according to co-authors, could become an alternative to popular antibiotics and a number of other antimicrobial agents. Such method is used in treatment of mastitis of adult cows, recovery of sick calves and elimination of general limb diseases in cattle.

As explained in the press service, animals are injected with light guides, which treat blood in large vessels, increasing immunity. For instance, irradiation of injured udder of heifers and other parts of the body of males will be provided. Moreover, lasers can be applied without contact.

About 5 patents for this technology have been already received. Soon this technology can be officially allowed for use by breeders.
