Approximately 160 countries are trade partners of Tatarstan, said the President of the Republic Rustam Minnikhanov during the plenary discussion at the international economic summit "Russia - Islamic World: KazanSummit 2021".

He pointed to the important role of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CCI) in the constructive dialogue between business and government. During the pandemic, the regional CCI became an effective tool to support entrepreneurs and confirmed the necessity for the authorities to cooperate with the Chamber, the Head of Tatarstan added.

According to Minnikhanov, Tatarstan is among the leading and economically developed regions of Russia. The republic is actively developing exports, and according to last year's results, about 160 countries became Tatarstan's trade partners.

"The Chamber of Commerce and Industry takes an important place in the development of the republic's foreign economic activities. It helps to integrate our business into the system of global economic relations, supports export of goods, organizes business missions. I hope that such close work will be continued in the future," said Minnikhanov, adding that the region is open "to the widest cooperation with foreign partners".

Russia - Islamic World: KazanSummit 2021, an international economic summit of Russia and the OIC member states, will be held in Kazan on July 28-30. The summit aims to strengthen trade, economic, scientific, technical, social and cultural ties between Russia and the OIC member states.

The leitmotif of the Forum in 2021 is conscious consumption; the key topics of the business programme include partner finance, the halal industry, youth diplomacy, medicine, sport, creative industries, export development, entrepreneurship and investment. The venue of the event also hosts the Russia Halal Expo and the Mechanical Engineering Cluster Forum.

In 2019, the summit was attended by 3.5 thousand delegates from 72 countries and 38 regions of Russia. This year, more than 2.5 thousand people from 60 countries are participating in the summit.
