A second vaccine against coronavirus was registered in Russia
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that Novosibirsk-based Vector Center registered another domestic vaccine against coronavirus infection, making it the second in a row.
According to Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova, EpiVacCorona is safe. According to her, the first 60 thousand doses will be soon produced. The vaccine will be available in civil circulation on January 1 next year.
The State Register of Medicine published instructions for the drug, which indicates that the vaccine is administered twice, intramuscularly at intervals of at least 14-21 days, in a dose of 0.5 milliliters in the deltoid muscle area. If it is not possible to administer the drug in the specified location, it is administered in the lateral broad muscle of the thigh.
The new vaccine has already been given by Golikova and the head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova.
The vaccine has become the second domestic drug against COVID-19. The first one was registered in August; it is called Sputnik V.
At the same time the Russian Federation is now working on a live vaccine.
